Where do pickles come from? Do you know? Oddly to me, there are more than a few people who don’t know. In fact, they think pickles are grown as pickles…yes, you read that right.
They honestly think pickles in all their crunchy, salty, sour goodness are grown just like that.
I find it hard to believe and had I not had a completely honest discussion with a 30 year old fella, I wouldn’t have believed it.
Pickles are Cucumbers. A pickle is made by putting cucumbers in a jar or barrel with water, vinegar and spices. Then it sits for a time until the desired taste is achieved.
Here is a video I found, there are dozens more so please Educate yourself: How to make pickles
The next couple of post topics came from my discussion with this young man…he really didn’t know pickles were cucumbers.
Please educate yourselves…
Tis the season…🎄🎁🎅
I am SOOO excited❣ I know, it’s the little things that make me happy. Flowers have always made me happy. You put some work, a lot or a little, into a plant and they show you love by producing a pretty and sometimes super fragrant blossom such as these:
There are 14 flowers on this baby! One of the unique things about this plant is the flowers only bloom once and only at night.
So I’ve been watching these grow for a couple weeks now and thankfully my husband woke me up after midnight (😴) to tell me they were all open. I forgot to check them before I climbed into bed.
There were so many blooming that you could smell the light Honeysuckle fragrance. Nothing says “Florida” to me more than Orange Blossoms and Honeysuckle 🐝🦋 🌴🌞
So I’ve lived in Florida most of my life, I’ve seen all manners of Lizards in various conditions…But never like this! I was taking some random pictures and playing around with some of the “manual” settings. When I noticed something strange going on, he or she was molting before my eyes. The interesting thing was, I didn’t notice it until I looked at the pictures I was taking. Cool, huh?
I am not a fan, they have a job…I just wish they didn’t work so close to my comfort zone. This guy is a non native species that eats the little green native guys…I had him evicted twice and either he found his way back or someone else took his place.
