Camera Clicks – FOTD – Magonlia

Good Morning! I am in Florida and I am not sure there is anything more majestic than a Magnolia Tree.

I noticed about a week ago, one of the small trees at my office had one bud growing. So I stalked it, brought my camera to work so that I could catch it opening.

Finally the day arrived! But to my surprise this blossom was being attended to by Bees!

I have never seen this kind of behavior. The Bees were picking off the little bits from the stamen (I think that is what it’s called, that middle stob thing lol)…check out these pictures, tell me what you think. Have you seen Bees do this before?

Camera Clicks – Rock

Have you ever just picked up a rock for no apparent reason. I personally have a thing for rocks. I have no idea why. I’ve wondered, could it be some ancient impulse that is just hardwired in my DNA? There are plenty of oral traditions that speaks to this; like leaving a rock on a headstone to mark that someone visited…do you have any thoughts on this idea?

Here is one I just picked up and happened to have a few minutes…can you see a face? What else can you see?

Camera Clicks – Lizard

So I’ve lived in Florida most of my life, I’ve seen all manners of Lizards in various conditions…But never like this! I was taking some random pictures and playing around with some of the “manual” settings. When I noticed something strange going on, he or she was molting before my eyes. The interesting thing was, I didn’t notice it until I looked at the pictures I was taking. Cool, huh?

Camera Clicks – Flower of the Day – Plumeria

This is my first Red plumeria flower so far and as you can see from the picture there are a few more to come. It has a nice Honeysuckle smell, no wonder moths are attracted to it.

Here is what Wikipedia says about plumeria: “Plumeria flowers are most fragrant at night in order to lure sphinx moths to pollinate them. The flowers yield no nectar, however, and simply trick their pollinators. The moths inadvertently pollinate them by transferring pollen from flower to flower in their fruitless search for nectar.

Camera Clicks – Baby Seymour

My first flower this summer on this Night Blooming Ceres. Last summer I had dozens. These things are so amazing, as the name suggests they only bloom at night then die in the morning.

So I’ll be conquering, or attempting to conquer my fear of certain green critters so that I can take pictures of this beauty while it’s open, soooo stay tuned!

Camera Clicks – Photo Challenge – Eyes

This is my Grand-Dog, his name is Entei (En-Tay), a pokemon reference.

He is half Husky and Half Boxer. Even though is eyes look the same color they reflect differently, we assume it’s because most Huskies have different colored eyes.

He’s a trip! He has pajamas, a raincoat and cold weather booties! He especially loves wearing sweatshirts and sleeping under the covers.

He became a watchful big brother at Easter❣

Left Handed Adventure – Day 1

So I had carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand yesterday. I thought I was prepared to be able to use only one hand, my left hand. So, since I’m sort of out of commission for my normal routine I thought I’d give this a go. Lol

I am attempting to type left-handed only and use the microphone to jot my thoughts.

Have you used your other hand or non-dominant hand for any length of time?

I’ve had a few surgeries over the last 5 years and have managed to go to the bathroom and that sort of thing by myself, so I figured this wouldn’t be any different.

Today I have managed to brush my teeth which was kind of awkward I don’t think I’ve ever done that before even with my surgery experience, with my left hand. The funniest thing so far today was blowing my nose. I think just for a giggle, you should try blowing your nose with only one hand and your non-dominant hand at that. 🤣

Somewhere I read it was good to use your non-dominant hand more frequently because that activates the opposite side of your brain. Anyone have any thoughts on this topic?

Its funny sometimes you want to be taken care of, when I have an opportunity like this what do I do? I figure out how to do most of the stuff by myself. LOL I have folded some towels made coffee emptied the dishwasher and now I’m blogging.

Next on my agenda besides more coffee, reading! I hope to finish a couple so I can do a book review, it’s been awhile. And, I need to order a new phone, I finally broke my Samsung 6! I am thinking a Samsung Note…but we’ll see about that.

So I’ve had carpal tunnel for a while now and have been babying my hand and arm quite a bit. I have managed to do most of the things that I like to do like driving a motorcycle, photography, blogging, crocheting, & things like that. All of that requires good hand dexterity, good grip, and now it had become more of a problem and I had to resort to this minor surgery.

Anybody have any tips and tricks on how to deal with carpal tunnel after surgery? I use a lot of ergonomic items from my desk to my crochet already.

I was going to include a couple of pictures but try taking a selfie with your phone left-handed or non-dominant hand, they don’t come out very good. Lol

But here’s one anyway….just keeping it real 😁
