Camera Clicks – Pretty Wisdom

Day 9 – 30 Day Writing Challenge

  • Post some words of wisdom that speak to you.
    • so I love cliché phrases and there isn’t a day that I don’t use them to relate or point things out to people. Now depending on who I am talking to, they may understand the phrase; which always cracks me up. So many young people these days just don’t know how to figure things out or they just never consider that there is more than one way to get something done. So I say “There’s always more than one way to skin a cat” and I know that for some you visualize a gory scene involving a cat. But understand that there is more of one way of thinking so you have to try to consider other points of view and if you want something done bad enough you will learn the language (mostly through trial and error) so you can achieve whatever it is. Here’s another along the same lines “When in Rome do as the Romans do”.  In order to explain yourself completely so that someone understands you need to try to think from the other persons perspective or just consider some of the pros and cons of whatever you are trying to accomplish.
    • Now this one, “curiosity killed the cat”, wonder why its always a cat? LOL It seems to have popped up frequently this week. I do think curiosity is a plus, goodness gracious where would our world be without curiosity? But I think its a cautionary statement in that you need to be somewhat cautious in whatever you do. So many people these days just don’t think about the ramifications of their actions. Like speaking before you consider what you are about to say, I have learned the hard way on this one; a few times. I am not saying you shouldn’t push your boundaries or societies boundary’s but just consider for a minute why they exist. Usually for safety reasons and I think if you want to challenge a rule, law, boundary than I say “go for it” but do it respectfully and through the proper channels because there is always more than one way to skin a cat! ha ha
    • Sometimes you have to “give them what they ask for until they choke on it!” So I’ve used this a few times to say the least. Ever try to convince someone they should do something a little differently so as to speed up a process? but they flat refuse to change anything? I know change for a lot of people is disorienting and scary. So you have to hunker down and prove it to them by giving them what they asked for and when the opportunity arises point out what you were trying to tell them to begin with. Most of the times you need to do this a few times before their light bulb goes on. Ah Ha!!!
    • Parents – take time for yourself and let your kids see you doing it. They need to see you taking time for yourself because it shows them respect for yourself and for them. You spend every waking moment totally focused on them and never yourself they will expect that of everyone around them.
    • Life is what you make it!
